The camp is set to be held from March 26 and will conclude on April 8.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday that 29 players will participate in a fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad.

Following their recent reversals of retirement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has summoned all-rounder Imad Wasim and pacer Mohammad Amir to join the fitness camp. Additionally, batter Usman Khan, who showcased outstanding performances during PSL 9, has earned his place in the camp as well.

Scheduled to commence on March 26 and wrap up on April 8, the camp is poised to kick off soon. The players are expected to report to the camp later today to begin their training regimen.

In a press release, the PCB highlighted that the camp, conducted in partnership with the Pakistan Army, is meticulously structured to equip the players for the impending series and tournaments. These include the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland and England, and the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in the USA and the West Indies.

The primary objective of the camp is to foster team cohesion and bolster the physical and mental resilience of the players, thereby ensuring their readiness to confront the forthcoming challenges head-on.

Under the tutelage of seasoned trainers and coaches, the players will engage in a thorough training regimen specifically crafted to enhance their fitness, agility, leadership, strategic acumen, and overall on-field performance.

It’s important to mention that the Pakistan team is presently operating without a coaching staff. However, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that efforts are underway to address this issue. He emphasized that the PCB is diligently assembling a comprehensive coaching panel, which is nearing completion.

Naqvi affirmed that both national and international coaches will be recruited for the national team, with the selection process expected to conclude within the next four to five days.
